Tues. Week 2, Day 9

Exercise
To make up for yesterday's failure I will do both lower body and cardio tonight.

Thoughts
While I strayed yesterday, I don't feel completely off track. Today is a new day and I think I'll do ok. Since I didn't cook last night I'll have to get Subway or something for lunch, but I trust I can make a healthy choice.

Mon. Week 2, Day 8

Exercise
I'll be changing up the routine this week in order to not miss much while I'm in Iowa. Today will be lower body after work instead of cardio.

I failed today.

Thoughts
Did my first week weigh in for 149.5 pounds. A whole 1 pound lost. Not too great, but I did everything right. I feel firmer, I'll just keep plugging away and it'll have to come off.

I'm still sitting at work at 5:45 p.m. waiting on binders to come in so I can go home. I'm already hungry, but will have to wait until after lower body at the gym tonight.

I didn't get to leave until 6:15 p.m. and was so HUNGRY by the time I left that I decided to go straight home. I called Eric on the way and he talked me into wings instead of cooking. We skipped the potatoes! Then I couldn't stop thinking about Ben & Jerry's so left at 9:00 p.m to go to the grocery store to buy the evil goodness. Whoops!

Thoughts
I'm so happy that I stayed on track today. This officially makes it a "perfect" week.

Sat Week 1, Day 6 - Free Day

Food
Meal 1 - 9:30 a.m. 2 Bacon Egg & Cheese McGriddles and Fountain Coke (I feel stuffed!)
Meal 2 - 1:30 p.m. Quarter Pounder w/cheese, Fries, Coke
Meal 3- 2:45 p.m. McD's Apple Pie (I forgot to eat it at lunch)
Meal 4- 7:30 p.m. House of Japan - Broth Soup, Salad, Shrimp, Fried Rice, Fried Veggies, Filet & Chicken, 1 Appletini

Exercise
Did upper body again at the gym. Still need to up some weights, but it was an awesome workout. I felt good.

Dancing later in the evening.

Thoughts
I decided I'm only going to check my weight weekly and measurements and pictures every 4 weeks. So far I'm afraid the scale hasn't moved, but I've done everything right, so I have to have faith that it'll work in time.

Not a bad free day. I didn't go overboard, plus I did get in all of my water. I didn't plan on drinking Coke, but...at least it's free day.

Fri Week 1, Day 5

Meal 5- 7:00 p.m. Flank Steak & BFL Season Fries (tried an asparagus recipe, but used way too much lemon juice and threw them out)
Meal 6- 9:30 p.m. String Cheese & Apple

Exercise
Didn't get up early, again! Went after work and used a treadmill. I think I overestimated my abilities, because my first set started way too fast. I then kept tweaking all the speeds and didn't end up doing 4 sets of intervals, but still ended up with a good workout. I ran a total of 1.7 miles in the 20 minutes, so figure it couldn't have been that bad. Plus I felt really tired/good when it was over, so it wasn't an "easy" workout like Wednesday when I used the eliptical.

Thoughts
Notes for next week. Attempt morning workouts. I did 1 this week, so 2 would be an improvement. Maybe even try for all 3! I did great on the food although Thursday was my temptation. Not sure why, but that's the hardest day for me on both food and exercise. Looking back at my "paper journal" it looks like this was a perfect week. I'll enjoy free day and the real test will be to get back on track on Sunday.

Exercise
Planning on Lower body after work.

Was super tempted to skip my workout, since I didn't leave work until 5:30 p.m., but decided I want to give this my best shot and not screw up and miss workouts if I don't have to. Overall, a decent workout. I need to up the weights on my Quads. We'll see if I'm sore tomorrow.

Thoughts
Got some extra sleep last night, so feel really good today. Also first day in about a week that I haven't had a headache by the time I came home! Yeah!

Wed. Week 1, Day 3

Exercise
Didn't get up in the AM to do cardio. Bad Girl. I did go after work, but all the treadmills were occupied. I ended up doing the Eliptical, but didn't push myself as hard as I would have on the treadmill. Only did about 1.3 miles. Friday, I'll definately get out of bed in the morning.

Thoughts
Overall, pretty good. I was tempted to cheat, but only ended up eating saltines. I skipped my final "meal" to compensate. I need to get dinner earlier and eat my final snack. Free day isn't far off, I can resist.

Meal 3- 12:00 p.m. Lunch out "Hobo's" - Salad w/ "Lite" Italian, 2 packages of crackers, Ordered a skinless chicken sandwich plain and removed the bun
Meal 4- 6:00 p.m. String Cheese & Apple
Meal 5- 8:00 p.m. Ground Turkey flavored with Taco Seasoning, Mixed with Brown Rice flavored with Fajita Seasoning, mixed with FF Cheddar Cheese also Salad with FF Italian.
Meal 6-
Water - 10 cups

Exercise
Did upper body at 5:00 p.m. It was a pretty good workout, but I need to increase my weights. Need to increase weight on incline flies to 12 1/2 pounds from 10 pounds. Need to increase weight on Lateral Raises from 7 1/2 to 10 pounds. Need to up all the weights on the tricep pushdowns. Remember to do all my bench dips with my feet up on another bench. Increase all weights on my back exercises.

Thoughts
The day isn't over, but I don't have much desire to cheat yet. I haven't even started a "cheat day" list. I sort of screwed up my meal timing today with my meeting, but am happy I ate out twice today and didn't cheat. I'll update when I finish today's food and water.

Week 1, Day 1 - The Beginning

Exercise
Went in the A.M.! Did the treadmill, I ran 1.85 miles and felt like I was going to die. Really hit a 10! Also enjoyed my new tunes on the Mini-Disk player. Next day note: Thighs are super sore, so I must have done something right!

Thoughts
Did good on the food part, except I missed a vegetable at lunch. I also worked until 7p.m., so didn't get dinner until later than planned.

BFL - Starting Over

I'm tired of feeling fat. I'm serious this time. I'm making the commitment. BFL it is. I re-read the actual book this weekend. I figured out I was at "Crossing the Abyss." I have all the tools I know it works, but I am having trouble following through. I am right now printing out a new "journal" to log all my planned and actual for both eating and workouts. I am going to do the AM cardio thing and not skip workouts. Eric says he's starting Monday too. I'm going to take all my measurements tomorrow and do pictures this time. I'll put links to my before pics on my site for motivation. I'll warn you in advance, it won't be pretty.

"But what if you get pregnant?" you ask? My answer, "I don't care." Waiting on the what if of pregnancy has allowed me to gain approximately 15 pounds in the last 9 months. Maybe the first 5 was legitimate when I really was pregnant, but the next 10 are basically me being too lazy to work at it, just in case I got pregnant. If I had got back on track after my miscarriage, I'd have had 5 months to work at it and might even have a six pack by now. I'm going to commit to 12 weeks no matter what. If I get pregnant, during that time great. BFL is a good "lifestyle." Nothing I will be doing would be "bad" during pregnancy. If anything, it would be better for me as I'll be eating healthy foods and working out. There's no rule saying pregnant women should only eat candy bars and ice cream.

Everytime I tempted to "cheat" I'm going to make a concious choice. Look at those before pictures, is that bite of cookie or bagel worth it? My guess is the answer is probably "no."

For your reference, I'm also posting the forms to use for daily food logs, upper body, lower body, and aerobic workouts. Unfortunately my home computer doesn't have excel, so they are in Quattro Pro, but you can probably convert them if needed.

Ok, here I go. Tomorrow I'll post my starting stats and pictures and Monday it will be "game on." I can do it. I did it before and I want to wear those clothes!
